Event Summary

Get a behind-the-scenes tour of the historic Enoch Pratt Central Library. First opened in 1933, the Central Library was modeled after a department store in line with Enoch Pratt's decree that his library would be "for all, without distinction of race or color." The library was recently renovated and restored in 2019. Join this Baltimore Architecture Foundation tour to find out what made the library unique when it opened, get a peek at the new technology throughout the building, and walk in the underground stacks that are only available to staff.

This tour is free of charge, but registration is required. Donations to Baltimore Architecture Foundation are appreciated.

Parking is available on the streets surrounding the library or in the Franklin Street garage (paid).
