Event Summary

The Lambda Alpha International  New York Chapter cordially invites you to our March meeting:
City of Yes and the Future of Housing in NYC.

Daniel Garodnick -  NYC Planning Commissioner &

Annemarie Gray - Executive Director of Open New York

Since February 2022, Dan Garodnick has been the Director of the New York City Department of City Planning and Chair of the City Planning Commission.  As CPC Chair, Mr. Garodnick has advanced key mayoral priorities, including three “City of Yes” zoning text amendments aimed at making New York City greener, creating and supporting businesses and jobs, and incentivizing the creation of 500,000 new homes across the five boroughs to help bring down rents.  Before joining City Planning, Dan served in the New York City Council for 12 years, representing the East Side of Manhattan.  Prior to his public service, Dan was a litigator at the New York law firm of Paul Weiss Rifkind Wharton & Garrison, LLP.  He has a B.A. from Dartmouth College and a J.D. from the University of Pennsylvania Law School.

Annemarie Gray is the Executive Director of Open New York, the state's leading grassroots pro-housing advocacy organization.  Prior to this role she served for nearly three years as a senior advisor in City Hall overseeing land use and fair housing policy across two Mayoral administrations under Deputy Mayor Vicki Been and Deputy Mayor Maria Torres-Springer.  She previously worked for the NYC Economic Development Corporation (NYCEDC) and the Cambridge Housing Authority in Cambridge, MA.  She holds a master’s degree from MIT’s Department of Urban Studies and Planning, and a bachelor’s degree in Architecture from Washington University in St. Louis.
