Yam Yam emerged in 2015 playing a vibrant, cross-pollinated blend of jazz, jam, funk, and soul. Yam Yam features keyboardist Mike Dempsey, guitarist Tom Fuller and drummer Tyler Fuller, bassist Xander Moppin, and saxophonist Jason Mescia. The members all met while playing in various bands in the Harrisburg music scene and bonded over a shared love of classic funk, jam, and soul music.
The band released their debut, self-titled album in late 2018 and upon its release, it charted on Billboard Jazz Albums section at No. 17. In 2020, the band released a live album titled "The Yam Yam Telethon (The Lingerie Room Sessions)" and in 2021, they released their second studio album" Double Dippin'," which charted on Billboard Contemporary Jazz Albums section at No. 9.
The band has opened for Lotus, Dopapod, Keller Williams, Aqueous, Big Something, Here Come The Mummies, Pigeons Playing Ping Pong, Andy Frasco & The U.N., and Taz among others and has been featured in NepaScene, LiveForLiveMusic, and TheBurg. In addition, the band made their Peach Fest and Summer Camp Music Festival debut in the summer of 2021.

Virginia's Kendall Street Company are no strangers to having a wild time. The genre-fluid, eclectic rock ensemble has drawn varied comparisons to the dynamic jams of Umphrey's McGee and Widespread Panic, songwriting prowess of John Prine, experimental psychedelia of Pink Floyd, progressive jazz-infused rock of Frank Zappa, and off-color humor of Ween and They Might Be Giants. Including elements of crowd participation, off-the-cuff comedic bits, haphazard choreography, musical improvisation, and surprise musical guests, each Kendall Street Company concert is an experience unlike any other. You'll laugh, you'll cry. Just remember to stay hydrated.

In addition to their reputation as must-see live performers, the Company's prolific immunity to writer's block has led them to release over 100 original songs between seven studio albums, two live albums, and four EPs in a period of just six years. 2023 will see the release of (at least) an additional two studio records, a handful of singles, and who knows what else! You can also enjoy a massive selection of live shows here and nugs.net. These often include unreleased and improvised tracks, as well as covers ranging from the Grateful Dead to DEVO to Alanis Morisette to Soulja Boy. With a full in-ear monitor and multitrack recording rig built, the band continues to capture the moments that mean the most to fans. With this new tech, the band also has plans to incorporate scenic recording sessions to feature on social media, such as our first attempt: "Live From the Foothills" in Fort Collins, CO
