A coming of (old) age film, Familiar Touch follows an octogenarian woman's transition to life in assisted living as she contends with her conflicting desires and self-narratives amidst her shifting memory and age identity. Familiar Touch was made in collaboration with the residents and staff of an active continuing-care retirement community in Pasadena, California. Winner of the Orizzonti Best Director award at the Venice Film Festival. Narrative feature.
