National Aquarium - Designing the National Aquarium Harbor Wetland
Be some of the first to explore the National Aquarium Harbor Wetland presented by CFG Bank – an innovative floating wetlands experience, opened this August, that mimics natural salt marsh habitat, promotes healthy water, supports native species and teaches guests about wetland ecosystems. This innovative experience includes over 10,000SF of constructed wetlands and a public access dock system, and is free and open to the public generally during regular Aquarium hours. The tour will be led by members of Aquarium Capital Planning & Design, Conservation, Learning & Engagement teams, and the design and construction partners. Together, these teams have been integral to the wetlands and interpretive elements as well as in person interpretation to the public and school groups.
Harbor Wetland is generally open barring extreme weather or other outdoor conditions. For the safety of all, the exhibit may close unexpectedly in the event of inclement weather conditions, in which case this tour would be cancelled.
Please note that the Harbor Wetland is open to the public prior to the tour start so feel free to arrive early to explore on your own, but be sure to check in with Doors Open volunteers before 4 PM.
Meeting place: Harbor Wetland, 501 E Pratt St, Baltimore, MD 21202
